Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide accounting for 16% of all cancers in women and 22.9% of invasive cancers in women. Breast cancer usually starts off in the inner lining of the milk ducts. A malignant tumor can spread to other parts of the body. The majority of breast cancer cases occur in females but including males and females breast cancer accounts for 18% of all cancer deaths worldwide. One might be surprised to learn that breast cancer is more prevelant in developed countries then in developing countries. This is due to the fact that most breast cancer cases occur in older women and the life expectancy is greater in developed countries then the life expectancy in developing countries.
